Install the Follow-Me printer for Windows 10

This instruction applies when you are logged in with your Windows computer on the UvA
network.

Note: In Windows 11, you may experience problems installing the HvA/UvA Follow-Me Printer (error message: 0x00000bc4 or 0x00000709). 

1. Open the start menu and select Run (or use the shortcut Windows key + R).
   
   
2. Enter the following link: \\LB.ps17.mycanonprint.nl.
   Note: When a security warning appears, click ‘Allow’ to proceed.

3. Fill in your [e-mail] (*) and password. (When required).
   
   
4. Check the “Remember my credentials” option.
   
   
   
   
5. Click on ‘Follow-Me’. Use the right mouse button and choose “Connect”
   Note: It may take a while before the printer driver appears.
   
   
6. To set the ‘Follow-Me’ as your default printer:
   
   
   
7. To set the ‘Follow-Me’ as your default printer:
   
   Windows 10:
   - Open the Start menu.
   - Click Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
   - Make sure the option “Let Windows manage my default printer” is not selected. 
   - Select the installed 'Follow-Me' printer and then select the Manage button.
   - In the Manage your device window, under Printer status, select the [Set as default] button. The printer status changes to Default.
   
   
8. You are now ready to use the Canon printers from your applications!
